Hello Parents, The 2014 season was a huge success for the Hurricanes which is a program under the Mountain House Sports, Inc. They kicked off their third year of existence and competed in the highly competitive San Jose Police Activities League. They competed against bay area youth leagues that feed into some of the Bay area power house football teams in the likes of Bellermine, Arch Bishop Mitty, Valley Christian, Milpitas, Oak Grove, Logan H.S. etc. The first year was very challenging with placing our kids in the correct divisions to compete in due to having age and weight requirements that were new to them. The Hurricanes successfully fielded 5 football teams this year, which were Might Mites, Junior PeeWee, Peewee, Junior Midgets and Midgets. They not only fielded 5 teams, but competed very well against the other more established teams, by placing the mighty mites team (developmental division) in the explosion jamboree which won both games vs Berryessa and Scotts Valley. They also placed all four competitive teams in the playoffs which is unheard of. The Hurricanes Cheer Teams won Cheer Championships at the Junior PeeWee and Midgets levels, and the PeeWee team placed Third respectively. This too was a great accomplishment as they dethroned the reigning champions of West San Jose Storm and Eastside Youth Athletic Club. The Mountain House Hurricanes board of directors received many high praises from the other more established organizations. Some organizations stated, you guys are supposed to be the new kids on the block, and made a great showing with your football, cheerleaders and organizational leaders, and referred to the Hurricanes an organization with competitive juices that teach and act with class. That was great to hear. Commissioner, Officer Saul Duran was impressed with the Hurricanes Organizational Leaders, CEO Mo Kahoonei, President Jeff Grondz, VP Larry Bragg and Secretary Cher Daos. Commissioner Duran was also extremely impressed with all of the coaches for football, cheer and the parents. He was happy the other Nine Youth Football and Cheer Organizations accepted us and voted us to join the league. As we reflect back upon our season, we decided to build upon our momentum, and reached out to the Leaders of the Lammersville School District in partnering up with the Mountain House High School and becoming the feeder program. CEO Mo Kahoonei received the positive endorsement from the Superintendent Dr.Kirk Nicholas, Principal Ben Fobert, Coach Jason Mccloskey. Mountain House Sports, Inc is very excited to present the Mountain House Jr. Mustangs for the upcoming 2015 season. MHSI is also building a track and field club for our community. This is very exciting. We want to grow with sports but we want to do it gradually in which it is sustainable to run every year. Mountain House Sports, Inc is currently offering Youth Football and Cheer, Youth Basketball and the latest addition Track and Field for children of the ages 6-14 for spring 2015. These are exciting times and to be able to have the support from all of the parents of the community is a blessing. Without dedicated and committed parent volunteers, Mountain House Sports, Inc would not exist. Mo Kahoonei stated, the parent volunteers of the community built this organization where it is today and they deserve all the credit for our existence, without them the organization is nothing! Thank you to all of the Mountain House Parent Volunteers in believing in our mission to serve the kids in our community and build young men and women with class, integrity and have the devotion to education and sports. Respectfully, The Executive Board, Mountain House Sports, Inc
