Hello Sweet Friends and Survivors, How are you doing today?? Are you enjoying the warm Summer weather?? I am always amazed at how quickly it goes from so beautiful to HOT!! Well, I am back in school and clinical and work and feel like the donut man “It’s time to make the donuts! It’s time to make the donuts!” Yes, I completely dated myself for those of you way to young to remember that commercial! I just keep telling myself (and the ladies stuck with me every day!) that it is only 6 more months! We can do anything for 6 months! Or…173 days to be exact!! Patience is not my greatest virtue nor is intuitiveness…(if that is a word). I tend more towards the foot in mouth side of life…you know…the one that always says when is your baby due??? I’m that girl! Ugh! I am so much better than I used to be but near where I need to be! I am so thankful for my faith and in my faith, a forgiving and guiding God! I was very comforted by many verses when I was actively going through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. One of them was Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go: I will counsel you with My eyes upon you. There is an 80’s Christian artist by the name of Dallas Holm and he has a song called “I’ve Never Been Out of His Care”. The song speaks to the fact that we may mess up a lot but God never leaves us or forsakes us and we are never out of His care…even if we are out of His will. To me, that was and is such a great comfort. It is a great comfort to me to know that when I am so confused about what to do or where to go that I have a great God to give me direction. It is also a great comfort to me to know that when I really mess up (and boy am I good at messing up!), I have a great God who will forgive me, love me and never let me out of His care! It also refers to the fact that just because it may FEEL like I am out of His care…I’m not. Bad things happen to good people. That is just how this world is. That does not mean I (or you) deserve it or that God no longer cares for us. It just is what it is! My prayer for you today is that you will know and feel the presence of a loving and caring God to get you through this leg of your journey, whatever that is for you today! That even if you have messed up, you will still be able to move forward with your head held high. One step at a time, one bite at a time…just keep on keepin on (which was a ‘70s song by the Partridge Family I believe!) We have Yoga on Tuesday night at 6. This is a great and free class taught by Indigo Yoga. We have our next Support group meeting on Thursday July 11th at 6PM. Great and positive group facilitated by our counselor. Genetics counseling available. Counseling and blood draw are free and the test is billed by Myriad laboratory. Call 817-922-2223 to schedule an appointment with our board certified genetics counselor. Mental Health counseling is available free of charge to any cancer patient and their family. Call 817-922-2223 to schedule. This does not require a physician’s order and is available to anyone. I love you all, you are my blessing every day! Thank you for being a part of my journey and allowing me to be a part of yours!! Our Guide for Life by Charles R. Swindoll I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eyes upon you. Psalm 32:8 When we arrive at dilemmas in life and are unable to decipher the right direction to go, if we hope to maintain our joy in the process, we must allow the Lord to be our Guide, our Strength, our Wisdom---our all! It’s easy to read those words, but so tough to carry through on them. When we do, however, it’s nothing short of remarkable how peaceful and happy we can remain. The pressure is on His shoulders, the responsibility is on Him, the ball is in His court, and an unexplainable joy envelops us. To be sure, such an unusual method of dealing with dilemmas is rare---there aren’t many folks willing to turn the reins over to God---and calls for humility, another rare trait among capable people. But it works! The Lord is a Master at taking our turmoil and revealing the best possible solution to us. Excerpted from Charles R. Swindoll, Wisdom for the Way (Nashville: J.
