Searching for Canada’s Next Great Triathlete and Coach January 20, 2014 The search is on to find Canadas next great triathletes and triathlon coaches. In an effort to ensure Triathlon Canada continues to deliver medal-winning athletes and coaches at all levels, and ultimately the Olympic and Paralympic Games, well into the future, the national sport body is set to launch The Talent Project. The key elements to the unique project include: - Talent Identification using high-performance coaches to back athletes; - Transfer of Talent into Triathlon Canadas high-performance pathway from swimming, running or other sports; - Tracking Talent already in the system; - Development of Talent by high-performance coaches; - Management of Talent by an Integrated Support Team; - Dedicated Programs needed to optimize the Talent Project efficiency and effectiveness. At the heart of the initiative is the RisingStar program, which is designed to identify, develop and manage athlete and coach talent in the country.
