Hello! Us 3 girlies are applying for SOCIAL SECs tonight. Please spend 2 minutes of your time reading our manifesto :) We are: Katherine Walberton → 1st year accounting student Catherine Little → 1st year English Law and French Law student Hannah Lavender-Jones → 1st year Sociology with Visual Culture student We work very well together, we have managed to live together this year without wanting to kill each other, and plan on doing it again for another year. It is a bit unusual that we are running as a trio, but we promise this only means you get 150% out of us. We have previous experience with organizing events and working under pressure. Catherine has worked at festivals, assisting the coordinating the general everyday tasks, ensuring it ran smoothly. Hannah was the chair of a cancer awareness charity, and organized events to raise awareness and funds. She was also part of the Olympic volunteering team. Katherine raised funds and organized her trip to Asia during her gap year. As a trio, we will bring you bigger, better and more frequent socials. BodySoc is one of the biggest societies on campus. Therefore, the socials need to reflect that. Some of our ideas for socials are: Holi (paint throwing) party Massive slumber party Water balloon fight Healthy smoothie class Giant Picnic And a larger ball Nights out: Maintain the arena cards... Christmas dinner Themed nights out for fresher’s week and throughout the year More frequent smaller trips offered on different days: Bath market Night out in Bristol Trips to the beach We have connections with other committees and social secs in pole dancing, american football, art history and visual culture… so we can organize mixed and joint socials. We will work hard with the publicity officer to ensure events are really publicized. We will take all of your feedback into account as we simply want to organize the best socials by tailoring to what you want because after all we work for you.
