Hello! We just wanted to share a little about our day at City Gardener….The new Landscaping is moving along nicely. The Potting Shed is Open and everything is 50 % off in there. On the outside that is what it looks like happened today. But on the inside we had the wonderful opportunity to make an arrangement for a Man who passed away and wanted a Celebration of Life Party. This was touching as we read his obituary, you got to know him, he was in the War, had a Wife and Kids. He loved His Wife (so we put in 2 silver hearts), He gave a lot for Our Country so we added an American Flag, He loved Ravenna and sports The Brown, Indians, Ravens, Buckeyes ( so we added flags and colors representing them). We were able to again custom design a few arrangements for a customers home. She brought in her pillow sham and pictures of the room and the Art of Floral design took over. Then A Lady came in because her cat had knocked over and broke a silk arrangement she was given when her Brother passed away. Our Manager did a beautiful re – design with what was left from the mischievous feline. The woman and I stood at the counter and time stood still as she share how she had lost her Husband, how she felt He saved her life, by this time both our eyes were welling up with tears. She had hoped for a silk arrangement at her Husband’s funeral so she could keep it as well and look at it and think of the years they had together. Several times in life I have heard people say what a waste flowers are but in reflecting on the day, Flowers helped Family and Friends celebrate the life of a loved one who had passed away. They became works of art to decorate someone’s home. A silk arrangement brought a sister peace that she had those flowers to remember her brother. A way she keeps her loved ones with her and memories alive.. Her Husband’s favorite flower was a red rose, he drove trucks to make a living, they had Kids, and he had a very dry sense of humor as she share this with me there was a silent joy you could just feel. Flowers a waste NO WAY Flowers are emotions, memories and a beautiful form of living Art and self expression! Have a great weekend!!! I would love to hear what flowers mean to you and why…….
