Hello again everyone, just an update on Milk (my little guy who had his first seizure about a month ago at 2 years old). After the first seizure he has had one every 2 weeks (he just had his 3rd today) all while he was sleeping and very short in length. We saw a vet who did all the tests and said he was healthy, then after the 2nd one we were referred to a neurologist who did an additional liver test (again normal), and today as I got those results he had seizure #3. They are suggesting I get him on some pills to control this now, before I was not sure... but this is so frequent and all of his tests seem normal so looks like we must do this. They also wanted to give him an MRI and a spinal tap to rule out other things for almost $3,000, we can do the cost if it is a must but Im worried about putting him through all that honestly + I have heard putting CH cats under anesthesia is not always the best thing... They warned me with the seizure meds that he will have a harder time getting around with his CH since the pills slow them down, is this true? Is this something that anyone has been able to slowly ween them off or give them lower doses eventually? Im really torn if I should just pay for the MRI and spinal tap, but only find out that they cant tell anything. Would be really great to hear some more from other CH cat parents that deal with seizures or anyone that has had pets with them in general :( this is all just a bit much for me to take in this month, he was so happy and healthy this year...thank you
