Hello again.....so what actually happened in Egypt yesterday. Just to explain the BBC World announcement that ran for hours under the news. The 25 January celebrations were cancelled due to the official three day mourning period for the King of Saudi Arabia - he died in the early hours of Friday morning. In Marioteyya, outside Cairo, 10 people [including a police conscript] died when the Brotherhood took to the streets. 2 policemen were killed in Moneib, south Giza, by men who fled in a car - I wonder who they were? 2 people died in Bahareyya, west of the Delta, when a bomb they were planting blew up. Any guesses as to their affiliations? One person died in Alexandria and another in Cairo. Pro Morsy, pro Sisi and pro 6 April demonstrations were dispersed in downtown Cairo. In comparison with the past these demonstrations were short lived, isolated and very small but the perpetrators remain the same. The Brotherhood are not a peaceful organization. The vast majority of the population were at home, or going about their normal business, feeling unthreatened and very safe. Its about time this fear mongering stopped. Egyptians should be congratulated for ridding itself of a terrorist leadership and for brokering the peace between Israel and Hamas. This isnt going to happen because it doesnt fit into the scheme of vilifying Muslims and the Middle East in general. Egypt is safe. Nigeria? Well who seems to care? Why? On another note - well done Greece.
