Hello all - I hope all is well! On behalf of the Closet at Monrovia, I want to personally thank all of you for your support of this ministry that has impacted so many families in our community! Since first opening our doors in April 2012, the Closet has helped over 530 families – over 2,000 people – giving away almost 23,000 clothing items to those in need in our community. As we approach the holiday season, the Closet at Monrovia Church of Christ (595 Nance Road, Madison, AL) will be hosting a Free Shopping Day for families that may be facing financial stress due to job loss, illness or other problems on Saturday, December 7, 2013. There are no questions asked and no strings attached ... if a family needs clothes, well give them some for free. In general, we provide 10 items of clothing per family member for those that come on Saturday (i.e. a mother with 3 children could select 40 items of clothing for her family). With the cold weather arriving, we are focused on providing winter coats and warm clothing during this shopping day. We will also have shoes, backpacks, purses and NEW underwear & socks. Please see attached for a flyer that I have attached for your convenience ... please feel free to send it out as is or select the information you feel is important to include in your schools newsletter. I have included 2 flyers, one in English and one in Spanish. Thanks again for your support and we look forward to helping more families in our local community that are in need this time of year ... If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know! All the best, Jay Darnell Director, The Closet at Monrovia jndarnell@gmail (W) 256.325.3757 (C) 202.489.9508
