Hello all, Doug here (aka: Denny Crane), wishing to pass along some Relay For Life news. As well as the team of McGees Tumor-nators did last year, it has become a struggle this year. Maria & I were gone over the winter in FL, and thus unable to attend any Relay planning meetings or any fund raising activities during that period. With Beckys (Myers) help who took orders, we actually made for the team $370 selling wreaths last Christmas season. With all that being said, at last Tuesdays Relay meeting, I (we, as a team) was offered an opportunity to join forces with another established team: Chocoholics For a Cause. They were in need of volunteers who could sign-up to walk on the May 31-June 1st Relay at the Oil City field (same as last year). I accepted that offer, and basically dissolved the Tumor-nators Team, (at least for the time being). The only change that is note worthy, is that the actual Relay goes from Saturday night into Sunday, NOT Fri to Sat as in past years. Also, this coming weekend (April 26th & 27th), at the Cranberry Mall all Relay teams had an opportunity to have a fund raising booth, which the Chocoholics are, and their booth is to be located near J. C. Penney. If youre out, please stop and introduce yourself. Connie Shull is their Captain and may be there if you stop by. If anyone has a particular question, comment or complaint, please call me.
