Hello all. First, I want to thank you for the continued prayers and support as we walk the path we’ve been walking for the last 9 weeks. Your prayers and love have been felt by all! I now need to share some news I was hoping I would not have to share. One of the goals while in Thailand was to get Karen stable enough to return to the USA so that we could have specialists over here help us take next steps in her recovery. To be honest, we were hoping doctors over here would have a “silver bullet” to help her — that they would be able to address things the doctors in Thailand couldn’t. So, we got to the USA and into the best facility with the best doctors, and after assessing Karen’s situation, they let us know that even though Karen was making baby steps of progress, her prognosis was not good: Karen would never be able to recover, and in fact, her time left with us was short. So now I must let you all know that my sweet, sweet Karen Sue went Home to be with the LORD in the late hours of October 4th. She passed gently and peacefully. The LORD has been merciful throughout this entire ordeal, and He answered prayer after prayer after prayer — truly and honestly, He did. I am thankful He allowed us to get back to the USA so that we could see family and friends. I am thankful He answered our prayers and allowed Karen to pass sweetly and gently. I am thankful for His mercies and grace. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 tells us “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.” I thank the LORD I have that hope, and I thank the LORD she did, too, my sweet, sweet Karen Sue — my Favorite Everything. We grieve, but not as others. There is Glory here, and it is beautiful. What a gorgeous life and legacy — one very much worth celebrating! Service information will be made known at a later time. We love you guys so much!
