Hello all. I am working on my artist statement. Please proofread read if u have time. I appreciate any advice you may have. Artist Statement They say that many are called, but the chosen are few. I believe that many are called, but only a few choose to follow their calling. I choose to follow my calling and be a visual artist and through the artistic endeavor, I delight in the joy of being a creator. The freedom to express my feelings and Ideas, not only give me great satisfaction, but afford me the opportunity to strive for excellence. My mission is to create profound art that communicate spiritually uplifting concepts that stir the soul, stimulate the mind, and expand the conscious awareness of both myself , the artist, as well as the viewer. In this way, I feel a connection to something greater than myself. I have a sense of purpose. For me, art is a light that illuminates the path that leads to the fulfillment of my destiny. To put it plainly, I love what I do. During my experience in my life, I have been bombarded by imagery that has been imbedded in my subconscious mind influencing what I think and what I do. While these symbols are neither good nor bad, much of what I see in Western society appear to me as a mirage of hath truths and illusions meant to deceive the mind. In my work I wish to undue visual brainwashing by painting honest and balanced observations of my reality. I illustrate the positive and negative aspects of our current condition and shed new light on old age ideas that only persist because of ignorance. As I question what I see, I reach for solutions to the problems that exist within my enviroment. I feel that I have been charged with the duty of showing the true beauty and magnificence that exist within my people. Such work requires great focus and imagination. To aide in my work I find it necessary to study great philosophers, righteous teachers, and the science of mind, body and spirit. Through my work I engage in personal development. I learn and apply. I am proficient in many mediums, however the airbrush is by far my favorite tool of creation. Through many years of practice, I have learned how to use an airbrush like a pencil. I layer transparent colors from light to dark, creating contrast and depth. This coupled with texture and pattern produced by acrylics gives me the power to paint anything on anything. However, just because I can paint anything does not mean I have the right to paint anything. What I paint must be specific for I am responsible for what I bring into being. My work is detailed because I meditate on what I see. Such focus allows me to notice what others often miss. I bear witness to the great divide between black and white. As a result I can bend light. I am currently studying the Flower of Life, unlocking its mysteries and intuiting sacred geometry. I am expanding my knowledge of symbols and how they affect the subconscious mind. I hope to one day open my third Eye so that I may see things as they really are. I am a lover of color always adding to my palette. I paint from the heart, feeling as much as I see. My mental conceptions arise from the deepest place within where there are no words. There is only a cocktail of emotional vibrations that allow me to perceive in the darkness of my mind’s eye.
