Hello all, I need your help. There is a threat on our campus that the administration has been unable to shut down. A Voice For Men is a national misogynist group, whose leader has been quoted saying that women deserve to violently raped. I can send you links to this information if you want it. This group has been criticized for racism, homophobia, and misogyny by multiple sources, which I can also provide upon request. My concern and the reason I am reaching out to you is because this group is active on our campus. Their Director of Collegiate Activism is President of KSU Men, and they have been funding him and are hosting a conference on our campus on November 1st. I have a video link, which proves that Sage Gerard has violent fantasies about shutting up women, and that he has violate the student code of conduct by entering the women’s bathroom on campus. He has a YouTube channel where he makes videos criticizing feminism and women. The founder of a Voice For Men, who will be on our campus, has been quoted saying “Should I be called to sit on a jury for a rape trial, I vow publicly to vote not guilty, even in the face of overwhelming evidence that the charges are true”. This man has funded Sage Gerard’s organization and has even paid for a hidden camera that Sage uses to record his interactions with KSU students. Sage is facing allegations that are being investigated by the University, and his VP has been charged with stalking. One woman who protested their last conference has received numerous death and rape threats. Speaking out against this organization is dangerous, but something must be done. Here is what I am doing, and I am asking for your help. I have founded a new RSO called YESbody! We are a student group who promotes diversity, inclusion, and equality for all bodies. The Gender and Women’s Studies department is partnering with us to educate the general public about issues. We will be meeting on Friday 12pm at the Gazebo to discuss what is going on at KSU. Secondly, we will be hosting an event called “A Voice For Them”. At this event we will be making cardboard cutouts of participants with their responses to A Voice For Men’s campaign. These cardboard cutouts will serve as “faceless protesters” at the conference on November 1st, because actually protesting is too dangerous. I am asking for your help advertising YESbody! And A Voice For Them. Many of you are affiliated with other student organizations, and I would love it if you would pass the word along. Additionally, here are a few things that you should know: 1. Regardless of what you hear, A Voice for Men and in extension KSU Men are hate organizations. 2. Sage Gerard wears a hidden video camera on his person and records his exchanges. 3. He has violated the student code of conduct. 4. He is funded by a national organization. 5. We can and are doing something to put a stop to the false claims and hatred that his organization is spreading about women. 6. Here is a link to the video where he enters a women’s bathroom and speaks of fantasizing about putting an adhesive sticker over a woman’s mouth : https://youtube/watch?v=Euv3GBSfMdQ 7. I am working in collaboration with one of the departments on campus to address this issue. If you or someone you know has questions please contact me, and I will be in touch regarding future events and information.
