Hello all Royal West students, I have an idea regarding the dress down day issue... Myself and a few other people are planning on wearing colanders on our heads friday to show our support for the cause against RWAs new ridiculous rules created for what was once called free dress day. Im aware that FSM is an official movement that opposes the teaching of Creationism as alternative to the Darwinian Evolution theory in American public schools, but this is not how well be using it. The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a symbol, it has been used to oppose oppression and promote freedom which is exactly what we want to do. Because The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is an official religion and the new dress down day rule paper states that all religious attire is allowed, we SHOULD NOT be penalized for it. ***Again, at the same time we want to make it clear that we are not belittling any religion nor religious attire. This will solely be for the purposes of showing our support for our right of freedom of expression.*** We really hope that all of you will take part in this, it is an easy way to support this cause and we will bring our student body together because of it. Feel free to give your opinions, we hope this isnt offensive to anyone and if it is please let us know because the last thing we want is for this to make problems rather than fix them. PLEASE SHARE!
