Hello all. Whew! I would like to say that the past few days have been smooth sailing, but they have not. I can say things are better now. I can also say if anyone doubted Lalas grit and determination, the past few days would put those doubts to rest. The surgery really went well. We have no news to report as the final pathology results are not yet in, so we are under the assumption that radiation will start in a couple of weeks. To sum it all up, lets just say percoset is not mothers friend. She spent much of Saturday and Sunday in a fog. She did well with past events, but remembering anything from the recent past was a blur. Ken reported that she was acting out dreams with her hands. Ben said that she kept insisting she had changed rooms. With me she was pretty wild eyed and scared something else was going on. And there was the odd hallucination here and there combined with persistent sleepiness, then there were periods that all was ok. A medication change seems to have worked wonders and today all was much better- until she heard a pop in her hip. Lala had walked about 25 feet, doing great, and then came the pop. A stat Xray was called for. We spent several anxious hours waiting for the results. Finally the all clear came- the hip and femur looked good! PT came back in and walked her a bit more and the rehab nurse came to evaluate for inpatient rehab. Looks like she will move to Stallworth tomorrow, probably stay there for a week or so. She enjoyed visits from several friends today as well as family. We left her resting in her chair this evening after a good Cinco de Mayo dinner, looking much better than just 24 hours prior. Thanks for your prayers and encouragement friends!
