Hello all friends. My Father will be undergoing a heart bypass on Sept 2nd. He will need at least 10 blood donors of the A+ type. I know this is some thing hard to ask of anyone but anyone who has this blood type and is willing to donate it would be much appreciated. please read below. Dear Ken & Nick, For the bypass surgery, the doctor has requested that I get at least 10 donors for Type A positive blood. Firstly, the donors will have to go to the hospital to confirm that their blood is Type A positive and also for the hospital to screen their blood from diseases. If the blood is acceptable, then the donor will have to be present at 8.00 am on Tuesday 2nd September. This is quite demanding for the donor. I trust you can explain to your friends on this procedure. Thanks. The hospital is Sime Darby Medical Centre at Ara Damansara. It is on the way to Subang Airport (Terminal 3) just before the big round about. Driving along Subang Airport road, go all the way until you see the BHP Petrol Station on your left. The hospital entrance is also on your left some 300 metres after the petrol station on the main road to the airport. When the donor arrives in the hospital, he can either park the car in the front if space is available or in basement 1 where the blood bank is located. The operating hours of the blood bank shown below :- Monday - Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm Saturday 9.00 am to 12.30 pm Lunch Hour blood bank open Sunday & Public Holidays Closed When the donor is at the blood bank, he is to give my full name to the receptionist and to say he is here for my heart surgery on 2nd September. If necessary, he can also give my medical record no. of 100 342 679. Initially, the staff of the blood bank will take a small blood sample to confirm the blood type and also to screen the blood. If all in order, he would then be required to come again to the blood bank on 2nd September at 8.00 am.
