Hello and happy summer. I know some of you have moved on (graduated) but this is the only way to communicate with the club as a whole until we start a new 2014-2015 club group. I want to remind everyone that we will be performing at the Jamie Huller Arts Foundation benefit on Saturday, September 6th at Fairfield University. Not only will we be performing we will be helping out with setup and breakdown as well. As a member of ACT whether it was taking a theater class, being in the cast or crew of the play or musical, taking part in the 24 Hr Play Festival, taking part in Unified Theater or any of the number of activities we participate in, you have been the beneficiary of the Jamie Hulley Arts Foundation. They are the ACTS biggest donor and supporter. This is our time to give back. We are looking for volunteers for the benefit. How can you help? 1. If you are a singer we expect you to sing with us at the benefit and we will also expect you to volunteer on the setup committee, as a server during the pre-show or on the breakdown committee 2. Not a singer? No problem you can setup, break down and serve. 3. We will be having 1 rehearsal on Friday August 29th (time to be announced) with our friends from Square Foot Theater. We are singing one song with them and one song on our own. We will teach you both songs and soon I will post links to get you rehearsed ahead of time. To me this is not an optional event. It is mandatory. As a club and as an Amity student you get a lot of things handed to you. We have plenty of funds to do amazing things. Your parents work so hard for YOU. Your teachers work so hard for YOU. ITS TIME TO PAY IT FORWARD! I am counting on our executive board Kahari Blue Caroline Burkhart Clara Gamsu and Chris Cassella to help organize and encourage other students to participate.
