Hello dear friends. MelissaandKatie Cruz-Long here. I want to thank you for the enormous outpouring of affection youve shown my Mother. Its unbelievable to me thats shes gone. Many of you have asked if there are any ways to make donations in her memory. I have a couple suggestions. 1) Eastern Palliative Care. eastpallcare.asn.au/ This organization provided care for my mother after she came home from the hospital. They charge nothing for their services and not only show up daily but called multiple times a day to see how she was doing. They rely on government funding and donations. The day my mother passed one of the nurses, Jonathan, happened to be at the house for the second time that day. After she took her last breath he went to the side of her bed and held her and told her Well done Elizabeth. It was one of the kindest things Id ever seen. Then proceeded to hug me for what felt like an eternity. She had 6-7 different nurses plus a doctor who helped with her care. These people are saints. They face death every minute of their day and still have such positive attitudes and are so caring and compassionate. To be able to pay that kind of care forward to another family who are struggling with the imminence of death would be such a great thing. They didnt just look after my mom. They sat down and talked to myself and my aunt every visit. Asked how we were doing. Reassured us that we were doing the right things. I could never repay their kindness. The second option would be anything that helps people. My mother always wanted to help those who suffer and needed a hand. She despised the charities that used more of their funds for administrative money than for actual giving to the people in need. To be sure you all actually know. Her name was actually Elizabeth L Roggenbau and she died at the young age of 76. RIP Mother. I will love you forever and miss you for always. As long as Im living my Mommy youll be. Thank you all so very much for caring so much for this incredible woman. There are not enough words that could measure how much all your kind words have meant to me. Keep her page alive with goings on. Shed love that... As she did all of you.
