Hello dear political science students. It is with great honor and pleasure that I present myself as the VP External for the PSSA. I would first of all like to give a round of applause for what the last VP external and her team accomplished, it was truly amazing and I consider that to be a challenge. I sincerely believe I have what it takes to succeed in this noble task and even do better than last year because of the following; • Firstly, I have been engaged in many associations and volunteering activities on campus and off-campus and I know perfectly how to work peacefully with people and have a good knowledge of how associations work • Because of my engagement, the University rewarded me with the Volunteer recognition Award for my implication. • Secondly I am very diplomatic in the way I do my things and I know very well how to create relations and maintain them. I have wonderful innovative ideas for my one-term mandate. I will not promise paradise or earth for the association. However, as VP external, I have two main objectives I would like to accomplish before stepping down. Firstly, with my numerous connections I have off campus with various political science associations in schools like University of Montreal (Association des étudiants en science politique et en études internationales de lUniversité de Montréal (AÉSPEIUM), UQAM (Association Facultaire Étudiante de Science Politique Et Droit (AFESPED) and McGill PSSA. I’m planning to increase the number of activities in the PSSA and create more interest in the associations. When I talk of activities, I’m not only talking academic activities but more of social activities that will gather PSSA and the political science associations from these Universities. Secondly, I noticed that the PSSA, which has as goal to represent political science students from all backgrounds have tried, but not enough to integrate all these diversities. Integrating all these diverse backgrounds is my objective. The question now is how will I achieve this? No worries, I have a couple of tricks in my hands for that. Firstly during the frosh week, not only will I work to advertise the PSSA, with my present work at the International Student Office, I will ask new students what they study and if they are in political science, I will introduce the PSSA and activities that can interest them. I will also organize events that will not only turn around North America, but other regions such as Africa, Asia, Europe or South America with the goal of attracting more students in our events. To this, I have many contacts with various associations on campus such as the African Association (ASAC), the Chinese Association (CCSA) and many more.
