Hello everybody, this is G Sai Ramya (U12EC132), contesting for the post of Sports Secretary(EW). In SVNIT there is no shortage of talent, but so few represent our college in sports. The main reasons for this are: - Many of them need a push in case of sports, as they lack the confidence in their performance or they dont have their friends as partners. -Not many students know about the timings and the facilities provided in SAC for sports. -There are no proper orientation classes regarding the various sports and related activities in our college. After a lot of contemplation, I have come up with this manifesto , which I believe shall get me closer to my objectives : - As a sports secretary, to improve the accessibility of the available facilities & take care that the timings (especially for girls) are properly planned and followed. - I shall take care not only about the professional players , but also see to it that all students pursue the sports they enjoy. - To provide fair and equal opportunities to the talented to represent our college. MANIFESTO: 1) Attendance for those who are participating in any sports event shall be taken care of. 2) Sports Groups shall be formed,which would help enthusiastic students develop skills in that particular sport and gain experience. 3)Inauguration of the Tennis Court, and introduce(have college team) sports like Hockey and Baseball. 4)Have a sports magazine released every year containing all the information regarding SVNITians performance in various tournaments. 5)Maintain an official record of achievements in various categories ( inter college tournaments & NCC). 6)Fair and equal opportunities to the talented to represent our college in various tournaments. I shall make sure that the selection process is transparent. 7)Ground & equipment shall be well maintained. Also issuing process of these shall be made simpler. 8)Organizing regular inter-hostel tournaments, inter-disciplinary tournaments , including LAN gaming. 9)Coaching for all those interested shall be available on weekends. Guidance shall be given by respective coaches (as it is almost impossible for one to learn any sport all by themselves and they need some guidance). 10)Screening of finals of cricket, football and tennis matches (SAC grounds/ Canteen). 11)Have online competitions in the campus for chess, other card games, LAN games (CS, DOTA,etc). Monthly winners shall be acknowledged. 12)Gym shall be better organised & I propose for a nutritionist consulting at Hostel messes. Also girls hostel shall be having a separate gym with basic equipment. By the end of the year I should be able to have achieved most, if not all of these points listed above.
