Hello everyone- I hope you are enjoying your week. Here’s some news to keep you informed in a TOP TEN list format. 1. Monday afternoon, Diana Farson was baptized into Christ here by Tom Amos with her sister, Stella, Penny and Rob and Keaton in attendance. Congratulations to her on her decision. Please welcome her once again into the family of God and recognize her now as a member of our congregation and the church. 2. Marty Lawhon did a wonderful job last night at the community forum for school board candidates. He is running on this May’s ballot. Our local paper and the Parkersburg paper were there to cover the event. Remember to vote not only for the school board but the delegates election as well. Early voting is an option now too. 3. Scott Wilson made a plea once again for your input on a VBS theme and a date for this summer’s annual kids program. Please go by and look over the materials in the fellowship hall if you have an opinion on this, and see him with your other ideas as well. We look forward to a wonderful program once again that blesses children! Thanks to all of you who help with this. 4. Thank you for supporting our young men who want to pray on Sunday nights. It means a lot to them. They are so excited to do it. –Rob 5. Commodities drive all month long: YOUR DONATIONS MATTER and make a big difference. If everyone buys one or two inexpensive things then the supplies we donate really add up! So, please consider taking a shopping list and bringing those things here to the building to be collected at the end of the month. See Rob if you have any questions. The lists are in the fellowship hall, on the front lobby table, and the front row of the auditorium. 6. We really want our youth to attend summer camp this summer. There are two weeks in June for this for two separate age groups. June 22-27 for the younger ones ages 8-11 and June 29-July 4 for ages 11-14. We have registration forms now for this. See Kim Holmes / Rob for who might be interested in attending. If you can sponsor all or part of the cost for one of our youth to attend, please let Roger or Paul know a.s.a.p. This is a wonderful ministry. 7. Last Sunday, the challenge all of you were given by Rob is 1. Developing and maintaining your spiritual growth for yourself and 2. Involving yourself in ministry and contributing to the work of the Lord and the church in some way. How are you doing on these? Please be considerate of these goals as we clearly lay out the expectation of doing more than ever and working together! 8. This WEDNESDAY NIGHT at 7pm- We begin a new study with a new format on how we spend our time together. This will include. Welcome. Prayer requests. Prayers. A Song. Fellowship time. Bible study. Group discussion. Recap and review. A lot for you in one hour. Please consider joining us once again. It’s better with you here. 9. This Thursday at 6pm- is the Shining Stars Dinner. Please try to come for this if you can. 10. This Friday at 7pm- Is the area wide singing night at the Dewey Avenue church building. Please go if you can for the fellowship and unity it brings. Ours is later this month.
