Hello everyone. All musicked out! Friday night saw Josh Rose play phenomenal drums with his uni band for their performance assessment. Tight musicianship from the rest of the band too - James and Ben and lovely harmony work from Jess, Natalie and Laura. Then, Saturday we played a little set in the Druitt Gardens for the Christchurch Food and Drink Festival - beautiful setting with bluebells though the woods; we were followed by our wonderful singer/songwriter son Ben Rose; then we went on to play at Ye Olde George Inn in the evening. In spite of being without our bass player (we did miss you Rob Guns Boivin!) and having a few technical problems, we actually had a stormer of a gig! We were seriously worried about doing lasting damage to the newly refurbished Sophie Dawes bar. Reckon her ghost didnt get much sleep that night! Lovely to see some Undressers there and especially good to see Sally Constantine and Chas Bradley . Then today, Ben was at it again! A set in Druitt gardens this morning and then an hour and a half sitting on a wall in the grounds of the Priory, just him and his guitar, singing his beautiful songs in the sunshine to anyone who cared to listen - and plenty did. Then back home to find Saints of Sinrehearsing - and yes, the house is still standing - well, they were built to last in those days! - so, now, feeling replete but slightly worse for wear, I think Im going to do something really rock n roll - like watch the Antiques Roadshow or Countryfile!
