Hello everyone! Hope you guys has a nice weekend? After last - TopicsExpress

Hello everyone! Hope you guys has a nice weekend? After last week’s successful Shop My Closet event there were a few people who let me know their disappointment that they weren’t able to purchase what they wanted, and asked why I didn’t use eBay instead so people could bid. Because I really hate it if I disappoint people, I would like to comment on this. There are a few reasons I use Tictail instead of eBay for the Tatiana’s Delights Shop My Closet events. For those who don’t know Tictail: it is a free online platform where you can set up your own shop in quick and easy way. That is why it is used by a lot of fashion bloggers to sell items from their wardrobes. In the past I have used eBay several times to sell something, but for the first actual Shop My Closet event, last March, I opted for Tictail because it gives a more personal, yet professional feel than a listing on eBay. Tictail also makes it easier to view all items at once. Apart from this an important reason for me to choose Tictail is that it is free. When I sell something on Tictail I only have to pay the Paypal fees, whereas eBay wants quite a large percentage of the selling price. Of course this also reflects in the price of my items. And last but not least I choose to sell my items at a fixed price on Tictail, rather than have people bid on an item on eBay, is because I want to offer everything I sell for a reasonable price. There are several cases where people keep outbidding each other on eBay, resulting in a rather ridiculously high selling price, and I just don’t feel comfortable with that. That being said, based on last week’s experiences, I am going to make some changes for the next Shop My Closet event: 1) I will list all items one or two days in advance. The only way I can do that is by marking them as ‘Out of stock’, but it will give everyone the opportunity to properly browse through all the items. 2) During this event I removed all the sold out items after an hour, so that it was easier to see what was still available, but during next event I will keep everything that is out of stock visible for at least 6 hours. 3) I will list more items. This time I listed 33 items, because I didn’t want to overdo it, but more people were interested in buying than I anticipated (based on the previous Shop My Closet event), so for the next event I will list at least 50 items. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about the fact that items aren’t ‘safe’ when you put them in your cart. That is not an option Tictail offers. Personally, I hadnt realized this would become a problem. Nonetheless, next time I will warn everyone in advance about this matter, so you can anticipate when purchasing something. I just wanted to thank everyone for voicing your concerns! I have taken them into account to make the next event, (which will most likely be at the end of September / beginning of October) a more enjoyable experience for everyone! For everyone who did purchase something last week: your items will be shipped tomorrow :) Best wishes! Tatiana
