Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Considering that we havent really had a chance to connect with one another, I would like to propose an end-of-term gathering at my residence, St Johns College. Dinner will be provided (for free!) and drinks are available at reasonable prices so please come to unwind and relax with an evening of food and friends! If you are interested, please select your preferred dates here: doodle/vsazuw8wu4vxpdsb Also, since this is a reading group, I think I should probably provide some forms of intellectual sustenance here. Some of the keywords/themes that have been central to my research are land, settler colonialism, and environmental activism. The two talks I listed here address some or all of these keywords/themes in thoughtful and powerful ways while the Mainlander article sharply unpacks the binds of dominant forms and modes of environmental activism. (Note: I highly recommend these texts but they are NOT required readings/viewings for the dinner gathering!)
