Hello everyone. I joined this group in the hopes of getting some help. I have a very large tree in my back yard that is hollow (or partly) and I have been living harmoniously with honey bees for probably 8 years. Well, over the past several months they seem to have turned aggressive. A friend mowing my yard was stung twice. My mom’s dog was stung and 3 bees clung to her as she came back into the house. And the final straw, my small dog was stung. When I ran out to her I found 4 or 5 bees clinging to the sweater she was wearing and she had been stung in the ear. Unfortunately, I am done! I am now afraid to let her play alone in the back yard, which she loves. In addition the tree they live in is in serious decline and needs to come down as the entire main trunk is starting to deteriorate. The hole that the bees use (I assume as they are always seen around the opening) is probably 20 – 25 feet off the ground, complicating the issue even further! Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
