Hello everyone. I just want to share with you my shopping experience last night. We went shopping at Al Manama Supermaket, Bu Danig branch (Mega Mall, Sharjah Area). I was wearing a short and ordinary shirt. Done with the items, no queue, now at the cashier counter. The Nepalese security guy was helping the cashier in bagging our purchased items. My cousin was attending to our stuffs at the counter as I rushed to get missed items in the trolley. The security guy had some filled bags and I took them to put inside the trolley. Never had in my mind that he would provoke me with insulting sentence. Security guy: Why you are not doing anything? I am helping you. Me: You are helping me? Am I staff here? I am a customer. You should not talk to me like that. I dont work here. This is not my job to bag these items. I am not supposed to bag them. Security guy: (A little bit uncomfortable when I started talking in a moderate to loud tone, simply distanced himself but came back bagging.) Take it easy, take it easy (as he taps my shoulder and explaining himself to the Filipina cashier) Me: (nearly shouting) Be careful when you talk to customers. You dont tell your customer to bag these items. Be careful. You dont give orders to customers. (I noticed everyone was looking at us and I had to calm down. Very impatient of me reacting quickly to unpleasant gestures.) Some people are provocative. Some people are impatient. I usually bag grocery items myself BUT on my own accord. The security guys words are an insult to me as customer. I should have taught him a lesson. I thought of filing a complaint against him and get him reported for this disrespectful act. This is to avoid other Filipinos to be insulted and disrespected. I do not demand respect as much as I do not accept an insult. I always fight for my rights whenever I have to. Huwag paapi at painsulto. Ganito na kasi kababa ang tingin sa atin ng ibang lahi. Gets niyo po ang message ko?
