Hello everyone I just wanted to mention why I produced this Christmas song and music video titled Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. It took us 2 weeks from where I started in the studio at 3 am after speaking to Orlando Martínez and Joey Jam. Yes 3 am. I expressed how I felt the spirit of Christmas in me and they coached me on to do it. I was talking to Orlando over the phone and texting Joey Jam at the same time. I was half asleep when I grabbed my guitar and walked over to the studio, kicked on the computer, launched Cubase and started to record. The next day Meagan Quiles came in and volunteered to record the lead vocals. It was like Magic. Then Joey Jam came over and mashed it up with a Bahamian rap feel which I loved and who also volunteered to direct our music video. Then Dorelis Roman tracked her background vocals, ad libs and Latina voices which gave it a flare to ignite the track which all happened in a few days. Even Andres Di Bono went in the booth just to joke around and I used it because it was cool. He thought I would not use his recording but to his surprise I did. He is the Spanish Santa Claus in the song. Then that Sunday we decided to shoot the music video because Minnie Diaz sister Linda was in town and she wanted her sister to be in the music video so filmed it. Then everyone agreed to shoot the following Sunday at Rising Sun Music where we had a Christmas party a week before Thanksgiving and the filming was finished that day. It was also a magical party where local artists from Tampa performed and shared their original songs. After the filming of the video was done we worked around the clock to mix and master the song and edit the video. Joey Jam spent 2 days editing with no sleep and so did I but we never stopped until it was completed. It has put a smile and our faces and that spirit is what motivated us to continue with no rest. This my friends has been a true labor of love and I am so proud to be a part of this miracle which has touched us all. It made me remember when I started playing guitar as a young teenager at the age of 13 growing in Puerto Rico performing for Parrandas which is where people go from house to house to singing Christmas songs and spread the spirit of Christmas to everyone. People paid me and my childhood friend Jose Rubert a $100.00 each to play every night for the Parrandas and thats where I learned how to make money with music at a very young age and I have been doing so ever since and now I am 56 years old and my outlook and life is to be happy every moment I can.
