Hello everyone. I sent this e-mail to teachers at MVH please like and share to spread the word. Our first meeting is Monday the 29th, in room 608 during lunch. See you there! Dear Teacher/Staff Member, My name is Rashid Binnur and I am the president of the new Journalism club at Mar Vista High School. I am writing to you to inform you of our first club meeting on Monday the 29th. We all know the importance of the skills that journalism gives people and I am really excited for the club this year. I ask you to talk to your best students and send them to the meeting at lunch in room 608, with Mr. Chavira, on Monday. By best students I am not referring to students with the best grades. I am referring to students with a thirst for learning, strong character, and/or journalistic potential. In this club we will surround ourselves with all sorts of Journalism. Photojournalism, writing, speaking, interviewing, video production, and so on will be incorporated. I moved to MVH from San Ysidro High School last semester where I founded the school newspaper. Just this summer I interned at U-T San Diego where I won a $1,500 scholarship. I will try my best to get guest speakers like Khari Johnson from IB Patch and reporters from the U-T as well as possible trips to the SDSU Journalism and Media Studies classes.
