Hello everyone, I wanted to take a moment to both introduce myself and let Mikes family and friends know of something very special. My name is Maeghan Hadley and I am the founder of 1 Day Ranch Animal Rescue in Bethel Acres, Oklahoma. We are a rescue and rehab center for abused dogs, horses, and small livestock and also an animal therapy center for children. Last year Mike and Kessea Moses adopted a dog named Prescilla from me. From that point forward they became huge supporters of our organization and what we do. While I never got to meet Mike in person, I consider every adopter to be part of my family forever. I am very serious about finding the perfect home for my babies and Mike and Kessea were the perfect match for Ms. P. When Kessea informed me that Mike had asked for people to donate to 1 Day Ranch in his honor after he passed I was absolutely blown away. We are incredibly honored by this act of kindness. This just goes to show what kind of person Mike really was. Even at the end, he was thinking about us. 1 Day Ranch runs entirely off of donations and sometimes we struggle to keep everyone fed day to day so someone asking people to do that for us is a huge deal. Little did I know though, that wasnt all Mike did for us... I was informed yesterday that Mike had asked for Kessea to donate $10,000 to us in his honor. This is LIFE CHANGING for our organization. Something that I cant even put into words... In 2013 our rescue was hit by the tornado that destroyed much of our facilities. We were so blessed this year to have a group come and help us rebuild our horse barn and they also began work on a new dog facility. However, we didnt have the funds to complete it. With Mikes unbelievably generous donation we are going to be able to complete the facility, fencing, and play yards that will allow us to save the lives of hundreds of dogs each year. We found it only fitting that this facility be named after the man who made it possible.... So, I am happy to announce that the Michael Quinn Canine Facility at 1 Day Ranch will be opening in spring of 2015. I hope that this serves as a wonderful reminder of the kind man that he was.
