Hello everyone. Im new here, and I apologize in advance if this was already discussed before. After doing some research online, Im still confused as to what is the current law, specifically in CA state, in using a UAV (DJI Phantom) for recreational and/or for commercial (providing videographer services for clients). What I do know is that all national parks ban UAV use with some hefty penalties, but does that include state parks? Does anyone know of any resources that exactly describe what the rules are at this time, although I understand there are a lot of discussions and grey areas pertaining to these rules? I found this site (https://mapbox/drone/no-fly/), which is helpful, but after reading several articles, Im not so sure how legal it is to fly a quadcopter anywhere. Any direction or help is greatly appreciated.
