Hello everyone! My World Lit students created some pretty unique projects in response to their first creative interpretation assignment this semester. I started this assignment a couple of semesters ago to allow the diverse population in my World Lit. classes to play to their own strengths and learning styles while showing off their understanding of our texts. Basically I tell students to choose a way to interpret the text. I give them a rubric for guidance and offer a few suggestions while stressing that I am really looking for creativity. It balances out the 2 papers that they have to write (not all of them are English majors, after all, and this allows them to show their understanding through means other than writing). This semester I asked the students if I could share their projects with you and I created a website to do so. Please honor their efforts and creativity by visiting the website and seeing a sample of what our students can do. I have uploaded all of the posters, paintings, mixed media, and creative writing projects from my classes. (Many students also created power points, but padlet tried to explode when I attempted to also upload all of those) Click on any picture to zoom in. Underneath some of the pictures you will find abstracts explaining the projects. I uploaded projects as they were, without any additional editing. If anything isnt working for you, give it a second and then hit refresh... I loaded so much material that the websites a little glitchy. I may need to research a better platform for showing them off next year. If you would like additional information about this project please feel free to contact me. Several other instructors have also adapted this project for their own classes and have seen some great results as well. padlet/MrsFleming/t58ymc63n2
