Hello everyone, Now I realize what the name of this - TopicsExpress

Hello everyone, Now I realize what the name of this group represents but I am going to tell you some things that hopefully will give you all some real edification. First of all let’s start with a couple of real great scripture concerning the Apocalypse and Revelation. 1. Matthew 24 was the prophecy given by our Lord Jesus about the End of Days and His return but the entire chapter is too long to include it here. I did however pick out a few verses I do want you all to pay attention to: the first is Matthew 24:23-24 (NKJV), “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.” (Now keep this scripture in mind for a little later. The other scripture is Matthew 24:36 (NKJV), “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” 2. Revelation 1:3 (NKJV), “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” 3. Revelation 22:18-19 (NKJV), “For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” So let’s get into this second scripture before I add on more. This verse was written of course by John Beloved because he along with many of the disciples felt the return of Jesus must be coming soon. I know this from my studies at college, but you will also notice that Joh was not foolish and placed no time frame for the Lord’s return. There was a great sense of urgency behind that feeling of wanting our Lord to return back then. For instance: Nero started the persecution of the early Christians very soon after he became Emperor of Rome. He ruled from 54 – 68 C.E. One of the more famous things he used to do was to hold extravagant parties in his palace and to give light to his party he used Christians as human candles, Then between 60-70 C.E. the Jewish Wars occurred in which Rome destroyed Jerusalem and almost nothing standing. They burned down the temple and the only thing that was left is the “Wailing Wall” that is still there today. During the siege of Jerusalem the Jews who tried to escape the city were brutally tortured and massacred by the hundreds, and then 1000’s of them were crucified in a long continuous line on the roads leading to the city. The Romans starved the people by not allowing supplies to get to them and the Jew reverted to cannibalism in some cases to survive. You all can look this all up by researching the accounts from Josephus, the Jewish historian of that era. Revelation prophecy is meant for us to learn but not obsess about. One thing to notice here is that there is no scripture to suggest that we dwell on the Apocalypse or Revelation or obsess on them. They serve a purpose and this is our salvation and also as our tool to use along with the Great Commission. The other two scriptures give warnings which now I shall give more evidence of in further scripture in the next post. But before I do there is a real danger in obsessing with the End of Days. Now the majority of this is tied with the scripture I shall be bringing but it also lies in the fact for those whom do so open their minds and hearts to false doctrine and scripture and start to consider the teachings of false prophets, teachers, and ministers as being men and women of truth and of God which they are not. Some examples of these people led cults which led to great tragedies such as: Heaven’s Gate (Leader Marshall Applewhite whom was gay) 39 commit suicide, Branch Davidians (Led by David Koresh who said he was Jesus returned) the raid in Waco Texas killed many, the Movement For the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God (Uganda) and the Solar Temple whom have a large following in Canada (both groups are even killing their members for various reasons). Now as I end this portion I do recommend that you all go to You Tube and watch the sermon by David Wilkerson, ‘The Last Deception” God Bless you all.
