Hello everyone. Thank you for adding me to your group! Please dont take this the wrong way, as I mean only to educate, not upset. I am a fainting goat. I was born with the genetic disease of Myotonia Congenita (Beckers type). Since your little goat friends cannot speak, let me speak for them. I am also a goat owner, although I own Nubians. So I know how wonderful a pet they are. But speaking as a M.C. sufferer, I must also state that this is usually a painful condition. Science does not know too much about this disease, but if you go to our site for M.C., you will see that our chief complaint is the pain associated with it. #1. It is a painful condition. #2 It hurts to fall down. #3 We are cold sensitive (so when you see them basking in the sun or huddled together in the winter, that is why) and #4. It isnt funny. The fear that a defenseless goat must feal when paralyzed must be intense. I am in pain all day, every day from this disease, so have consideration when you deliberately cause your little friends to faint. Thank you for letting me tell my (and the voiceless kids) story.
