Hello, everyone. This is your Founder and Editor-In-Chief, Omar Rivero. I am the Democratic Partys candidate to the Florida State House of Representatives for District 118 (Miami). I have been working seven days a week for the past year to bring you the best quality graphics and articles here at Occupy Democrats, and I need your help. My Republican opponent is a deeply entrenched, well-funded incumbent who works tirelessly to dismantle the public sector and social safety net, especially our public schools and colleges. We are expecting a very close race with high voter turnout in November. While I am being funded by members of the local community contributing the little they can, my opponent is making sure that our full-time workers earn poverty wages, while accepting big money from industry lobbyists and large corporations who seek to dismantle the public sector, pollute our environment, and privatize vital public services.
