Hello everyone. We from PERMIAS Massachusetts would like to invite all of you to participate in holding New England Indonesian Festival next year. We are also planning to hold a 4-week exhibition of Indonesian culture prior to the event at different universities. These couple of years, our committee members have worked tirelessly to find sponsors from USA and Indonesia. From driving to DC to flying to Singapore in order to find sponsorships, all students in this organization have proven their commitments to the country and you, the community in New England. The journey wasnt easy. We face a lot of challenges, especially: 1. PERMIAS is not a legally state registered organization, thus it has been difficult to be sponsored by local companies. We also tried offering partnerships with other local non-profit organizations, with agreement achieved only with certain unaffordable fees. 2. Government has limited funding for this event and organization. 3. A lot of Indonesian companies do not target USA-based markets, thus denying our proposals. Due to these issues mentioned, we would like to try something new; crowdfunding. We offered 5 packages, Merpati ($25), Camar ($50), Nuri ($100), Merak ($500), and Garuda ($1000). Depending on which package, you will get our handwritten thank you notes, New England Indonesian Festival t-shirts, posters, or others. This project will be closed on December 31st. We also encourage you to share this post to your friends and families. Being a non-profit organization, we promise we will be transparent with the money we receive. We will not stop working hard and looking for sponsorship regardless how well this project goes. We believe in your passion for Indonesian culture all these years. We believe in the power of community. We believe in a better New England Indonesian Festival 2015. We believe in the Indonesian pride and our duty to spread awareness of our culture.
