Hello everyone and good Monday morning, here is your morning - TopicsExpress

Hello everyone and good Monday morning, here is your morning update. Below is the current Storm Prediction Center outlooks for your Monday. As you can see a moderate risk area has been issued for areas of the south as highlighted in red. That will be the main area of focus today and this morning. This morning an already well defined squall line that is pushing across eastern Oklahoma and Texas will move east across Arkansas, northern portions of Louisiana, then later in the day may move east into Tennessee, the northern half of Mississippi, and maybe more north into Kentucky. Very strong damaging straight line winds may occur within the squall line as it advances across these areas, also there is risk for some embedded rotating thunderstorms within the squall line that may produce tornadoes. There is even a SLIGHT chance to have some strong tornadoes develop if more discreet supercells are allowed to form ahead of the main squall line, this will also elevate the large damaging hail threat. Any tornadoes that may develop within the main squall line will most likely be brief but residents should still take this threat seriously as squall line tornadoes can develop very fast and these storms will also most likely produce heavy winds capable of causing damage to property and threaten life. Severe thunderstorms can produce winds comparable to low end tornadoes and hurricanes, so when a severe thunderstorm warning is issued for your area please take it very seriously and seek shelter until the storm has passed. Stay safe everyone.
