Hello everyone who has asked how I feel about being plagiarized, I am angry, of course.. The Steampunk Civil War is fun to write and is rewarding for me. The intention of the strip is to encourage participation, which is well received on google and this page. I am happy if people are eager to offer images, advice, crits etc. I would be happier if the series inspired other people to explore subcultures, satire, character development, format and genre or even fashion after reading I am happy when people share, but my stage name was used and my strip used by a woman sent to prison after shooting a child, she applied for a job using my references at a local university where my family and I are known. Not only did this woman use my name, my work, my references but she applied for a grant . That is very wrong. In Austin one of the anthologies I published was reproduced in totem by a man who received a grant to publish an anthology, he lied and told his committee he traveled overseas where I had lived and met many of the authors in the magazine, my family is also in the publishing industry, the grant giver never even asked him to show his expired passports or correspondence from the writers, and some of these people knew exactly where to find me. I write for pleasure but as a professional journalist write to pay the bills, buy food and hopefully contribute news to my community which benefits their decision making process through the presentation of factual information. All I can say about the woman who killed a child and went to prison is it seemed to be a good place for her, and about the people who published the man in Texas, who used his former wifes name rather than his own, he was also a convict, so how does the local community college maintain accreditation with a conspirator teaching lit classes. I will continue to write and to share my work, I have a strong bibliography in several genres, but will also prevail in court, Meanwhile, hope you enjoy the read, kathryn
