Hello facebook friends Just a small recap on my amazing weekend at the Avon walk for breast cancer in NYC.....The walk started with opening ceremonies at the pier near the intrepid at 5 on Sat AM....We began walking at 6:45 AM....all over manhattan...over the Brooklyn bridge ...ate lunch in a park....back over the Brooklyn bridge....their were rest stops about every 2 miles with drinks and power snacks...Connor and I completed 26.2 miles on Fri in just 11 hrs. and 15 minutes and then put up our two man pink tent....ate....and had foot messages and had the podiatry tent fix our blisters.....a lot of stretching was needed....On Saturday we were up and at em by 6 and walking again by 7:30....We completed 13.1 on Sat which brought us to the finish line for a total of 39.3 miles in 2 days . The people we met were awesome....people walking for this great cause. Avon Walk for Breast cancer NYC raised 7 million total ......This was life changing for me....I was blessed that God got me through this and feel I have made a difference in some small way.
