Hello fellow downhill skaters. Small trip report on the only place en el monde (that I know of) where you can ride a chairlift up, and skate down a 3km 12% grade with 12 braking hairpins and a top estimated speed of 75km/hr. I was clocked at 63 on a slow run...and I know Moritz Nörl, Daniel Ladurner and Harry Perna and many, many more could go waaaaaay faster. And, when the skating is done (today I had 10 runs) you can drink a good German beer with a wonderful view of the Saar river valley atop vinyards on the down slope below. Amazing. Full report sometime soon... Hat tip to the good Canadian mike Rensmaag for the identification of this truly one of a kind DH destination. They told me I was the first inliner to skate the hill. Cool. :)
