Hello folks, Quick update- Over the past couple of days we have had a couple of key meetings. Last evening we had a very productive meeting with some of the respective stake holders from Mayaro and environs. It is a FACT that,we are in need of one body Group organization to take all of Mayaro issues and concerns forward. (They will hardly every hear/listen to any one individual) except it we have a Kublalsingh!!**** #jussaying Forward our concerns/ recommendations to either the councillors or our MP of the day. (The only way to get results and move forward fast) We are sadly lacking this, believe it or not! ONE VOICE. We are currently finalizing that name and will make an announcement soon. Today myself and Mr. Rushton Paray had a very cordial and promising meeting with our MP Mr. Winston Gypsy Peters. We discussed the Manzanilla road at length and its negative impact its having on our community and the way forward. He was very much open to suggestions and how to move our community forward,believe it or not.(serious) Full kudos must go to him and his team for ensuring relief, both In the Mafeking floods and in Manzanilla. The road works has begun, little as it may be.All because of the still existing water in and around the roadway works has to be slow at this time. Hes assuring us that the reconnecting of the Mayaro to Manzanilla route is of utmost importance and therefore does not see that taking more than 2 weeks to complete once no more rains. ( off course we all want that ASAP) I have not seen much activity since the first couple of days of the launch of this group and Im starting to question myself have we gone to bed on this issue already? I doubt! I hope not! We all either live in Mayaro or have family living here, so lets all stand up, stand up and be counted, lets all make this difference. In closing, I would like to note; not because you are not seeing or hearing from and about certain persons involvement in this group from your community that means he or she does not have a part to play. I want to reassure all that this group is NOT going to be a political tool and nor should it. We invite all and all your views on making this something worthwhile and special in the history of Mayaro as for far to long we have been left out of the NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN....... Its our time.. Our time to take a different approach and make this work for all of us... Now and 50 years later! As usual your thoughts / comments and recommendations are more than welcomed...
