Hello friends! Earlier this year, Cynthia and I visited the Mayan ruins of Belize. We had a great time as our pictures from the visit attest. https://facebook/arnold.christopher/posts/10151976492423204 We also met two amazing people in the northern town of Copper Bank. They had created an ecologically low-impact bungalow haven on the coast of Corozal Bay, just about half a mile north of the archeological preserve of Cerros, where a massive Mayan city thrived 2250 years ago. Bill and Jen use solar power, reverse-osmosis rain water and natural supplies to create their amazing outpost on the bay. Lonely Planet utterly raved about it. Over an elegant home-made ceviche dinner with home brewed beer made by Bill the chef himself, we talked about Mozillas mission as a non-profit to promote web literacy for all, open source software and low-cost tools for the global access to the web. He and Jen believed they could contribute. They offered to host a web training camp on their property for the local community, which is rather off the digital grid. I conducted the outreach on Facebook and at Mozilla for volunteers to participate in a WebMaker Teach the Web event and found four brave folk who would help. We are conducting an indiegogo campaign to raise the funds for the event. Please join us in supporting them. igg.me/p/corozal-web-training-camp/a1c3/281044
