Hello friends, Im PRERAK DOSHI, Fresher. So well everybody was busy in the last few days putting up their manifestos, some genuinely produced with sincere deliberations, some just for the namesake, I, although standing for the post of SAC B.Tech First Year which is a minimal post for some considerable CHANGE, but still, for the GREATER GOOD, I present my vision... There are a few things that I have observed around being an FYite which need to be worked upon. I am so firm in changing them, even if I dont get the priviledge to change it myself, the below mentioned changes are sure to come. 1. There are many 1st Year students who aspire to pursue their further studies in colleges like MIT, Cambridge, Harvard, etc. Other than academic profile, they require research work and practical work certificates. For US, I would try to induce oppurtunities to work in RnD Department and assist Seniors and Faculty. 2. Students who are passionate about co-curricular activities like sports, dance, music, fine arts, theatre etc, would be provided extra facilities so they could progress in their respective fields. 3. I cant promise, but I would definitely raise a voice against marking system on the basis of attendance. To be precise, once you satisfy the minimum criteria for attendance, you must get the out-of marks since you have rightfully fulfilled the requirements. Further discrimination on the basis of PERCENTAGE of attendance and marks distribution is a little insensible. 4. Okay so you(Management) claim that you have cropped our in-time to a horrible 19:30 hrs because you are concerned that we might get ragged, fine, I will buy that unwillingly, WHAT ABOUT WEEKENDS? How do you expect students to be back to their Hostels by 12:30? I am determined, I am going to change this! 5. I will make sure students get time-table and syllabus well in advance of Exams, so students can work accordingly and plan their studies. 6. Act as a bridge between Students and Seniors as well as Faculty. 7. The basic problem that we FYites face is, we dont know anything about the college, YES WE ARE UNAWARE. I have a plan of setting up interaction sessions atleast once a fortnight, where our respected Seniors are going to just tell us the abcs of the SVNIT-SURAT because everyone knows, the abcs of SVNIT-Surat are endless. I am willing to be a representative of approximately 800 students and a firm voice that roars to bring the CHANGE, I have the dedication that will achieve new heights with your support. I know criticism is crucial to activeness, and well, this, being more than a manifesto, is my Vision, a system, where every FYite expects when he/she enters a college. So, be the change. Your Vote for me is the Vote for Yourself.
