Hello friends, Ive got a request for all of you(tech savvy or not). Please take a second to read! ___________________________________________________________ You have all undoubtedly heard of the incredible(new) payment system unveiled by Apple, deemed Apple Pay. A contact-less form of payment; using your iPhone, you simply tap the back of the device to the credit card reader and(wallah!) youve payed(via NFC). No need for cards or the vulnerability that accompanies them. Its really quite awesome! Now, despite what Apple would have you believe, this payment method has been available for around 2 years on most NFC equipped Android devices(via Google Wallet). I have been using the hassle free payment method for over a year now and I LOVE it!!! Un/fortunately being the media magnet Apple is, this payment method has become more widely known. This has caused a number of MAJOR retailers(including: Walmart, Kmart, 7-11, and Best Buy...etc) to disable their NFC compatible touch pads. You see, they have a competing app in the works called #CurrentC, due to release in 2015. It uses the same technology, however, it stores your bank account/credit card information in the cloud(in the hands of the retailers, vulnerable to theft/abuse) and is, to say the least, incredibly unreliable and unsafe from a privacy stand point. A petition to stop these blatantly anti-competitive practices has been created via Change.org and I strongly encourage everyone to sign it.
