Hello friends, The Blackeyed Susans News If you’re the kind that likes to plan ahead, then grab your diary because The Blackeyed Susans Trio will be returning to the Union Hotel in Brunswick for a Saturday arvo residency in October. More shows of the full band and trio variety to follow in November and (hopefully) Christmas shows in December. In other Susans’ news, a rather high profile Australian female artist has just sent us a copy of her version of ‘A Curse On You’ due for release on her new album very soon – and a very splendid rendition it is too. We’re not at liberty to tell you who it is yet but you’re welcome to try and guess…one thing we can say is that she’s probably not someone you would necessarily pick as a Susans’ fan, but when you hear her version it will all make perfect sense. Our mystery artist is not the only one to be inspired by a Blackeyed Susans’ song. Best selling English novelist John Connolly has named ‘This One Eats Souls’ as one of the inspirations behind his new book The Wolf In Winter, due for release later this year. The track will feature on a bonus CD to be included with the book.
