Hello friends and family of Cedar Cliff High School, I hope that all of your summers are going well. My name is Brett Whalen and I am a senior at Cedar Cliff. I am currently co-chairing our first ever Mini THON to be held on February 21st through the 22nd and I need your help to make it a success. For those of you who are unfamiliar with these fundraisers, they are smaller versions of the very large and impressive dance marathon held at Penn State each year known as THON. The purpose of these events is to raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund whose mission is “to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research.” It’s a great cause and one that supports families in our district. We are just getting started in our efforts and our first fundraiser will be a “Flamingo Flocking”. This is where you come in. Attached to this email are two forms: a “Flock a Friend” form and an “Anti-Flocking Insurance” form. By filling out the “Flock a Friend” form you are directing the Cedar Cliff Mini Thon committee to put a flock of plastic flamingos in your friend’s yard. On the other hand, by filling out the “Anti-Flocking Insurance” form you are ensuring that your yard will be protected from all flamingo flocking… that is until next year. All flocks will be removed by our committee in a timely manner and put in a new yard. So flock a friend, flock your family, flock a neighbor, or flock your boss! It’s all good fun and it supports a great cause. We just ask that you keep all flocking requests within a 15-minute driving distance of Cedar Cliff and that all forms and payments are submitted prior to August 15th. All other information that you need is enclosed in the attachments.
