Hello friends, it has surely been awhile. Somehow life just moves forward and sometimes projects have to sit. Here is a sort of part one for this fall/winter season. I am hoping for the painted edition to take life in the spring of 2015 when time and weather provides a little more for doing that. I think to fully enjoy making sawdust for a hobby you really have to be a big kid. What is the fun in having your own small shop with all of those nice tools you have collected without enjoying them. A few months back browsing the internet I saw an old wooden wagon and thought…hmmmm..that looks cool. So I began my quest to create a wagon that I could actually use as a work horse. This would not only involve woodworking, but metal working as well! I basically got the ideas to make the axels like a kids go cart. 2x4s sandwiched together with an axle relieved by using a hand gouge. Then I picked up some steel rod and hacksawed to my proper length. Drilled some holes to slip in some cotter pins and added some harbor freight wheels! Everything here was a lll hand cut, with a lot of power drill work for building up the pallet. This thing is as strong as a bull and steers very well. I got some aluminum and cut out and formed brackets to hold the fences around the body. I had some old angle iron to help shape pieces to attach my handle assembly. I had a blast making this, and she pulls a heavy amount of tools or whatever else I need, so it is a user. Be well! Joe
