She has never really been given the chance to put herself first. This past January marked her 75th year on earth. Sadly and barely with one hand can she count the days that she has spent doing what made her truly at ease or joyful Born in 1939 to poor but hopeful parents. The first years of her life they remained poor but the hope quickly faded. Before she learned to walk her mother learned that she was dying and by age four her mother was taken by a broken heart, medically speaking that it. Her father was off fighting in the army and for reasons only known to him, he never came back to get her. She was left to an older couple who raised her as their own. When she was a teen she learned of her fathers passing. He died heartbroken and alone on the streets of Los Angeles. Her adopted parents refused to let her attend the funeral. She married young and had her first child by 18. I personally dont know much about this time in her life, she seems to try to forget it. All I know is by her late twenties maybe thirties she had 3 children and was supporting them alone. She married again in the 80s. A older man who was a ww2 veteran. They had one child. me, Mia. She was 44 and my dad was in his 60s when I was born . I was hell of wheels from day one. She was diagnosed with skin cancer sometime while i was middle school and she beat it. My dad, her husband was diagnosed with cancer. he did not. When I was 15 I lost my dad but My mom lost the last partner in life she would have. Instead of playing it safe and doing what an older widow should do. She sold the house, bought a car and we drove across the country from Florida to the city of Angels. Where once again I was hell on wheels but this time with a fake Id. She supported my crazy antics and artistic self expression. In her 60s she Even dressed like the crow and took me to see a big city Halloween in that first year we came to L.a. Then her cancer came back again. In two more spots on her skin. She again beat it. Now she lives in FL again where she volunteers at an animal shelter there. She gives the little dogs baths and takes them for walks every day. Im asking for your help to try to give my mom something she has never had. A real vacation. Nothing too fancy, she is 75 after all. Can you give an orphaned , cancer survivor, widowed, old lady something... Anything to smile about . Im hoping if people read this they will share. Video of her singing to dogs,..
