Hello, in response to Paul M. Kellermanns posting below, I want to - TopicsExpress

Hello, in response to Paul M. Kellermanns posting below, I want to assure everyone here that nothing, not one post or comment, regarding the upcoming AAUP election or the issues in play, has been deleted from this Facebook page, at any time, according to my knowledge. We were informed a while back, by the present leadership (who posted here), that it as against national rules for electioneering to take place on social media sites. After that, the posts asking for electoral support disappeared, apparently of their own accord (I certainly did NOT delete them). I have my own rather strong feelings about this election, especially regarding the extremely divisive rhetoric which is emanating from both sides. Really, my disgust and concern know no bounds. I dont see how this process can result in anything other than further division, or worse. What I have decided to do, for myself anyway, is to concentrate my efforts on trying to preserve and strengthen what we have already accomplished here. We have a lot building and, frankly, rebuilding to do, after a long and often frustrating winter. In the meantime, all of you should feel as free as you want or need to be to discuss anything you like here, including the issues relevant to the current election. so long as the personal doesnt get entirely out of hand (Ill warn you if that starts happening). In an ideal world, Id probably hope, at least, that we might avoid the kind of childishness we have unfortunately been subjected to from the present campaigns. But dont hold back on account of me, folks. Just consider the larger audience that you might be addressing here. We have seen an unusual uptick in people applying to join the page, for one thing. This may have been prompted, in part, by the current controversies. Anyway, that is my two cents for now. Fire away.
