Hello, my name is Marcel, and since a few months, Im working with Ithkuil. I think it is a very interesting language, and I try to learn it First of all, I want to thank the admins for adding me to this group, and giving me the possibility to participate on discussions about Ithkuil. When I read the first chapter about the phonology of Ithkuil and its latin transcription, the stress marking, and some other topics seemed solved in a very uneasy way for me. So I decided to set up a new Latin transcription, which differes in a few ways from the original one, and which focuses on a direct and clear representation of the phonology, where on the other hand, the original one (in my opininon) layed its focus mainly on the easy representation of characters in the Web. In a nutshell, the new one uses more special characters, which could be not representable on some computers. Another reason for creating a new Latin transcription is my attempt to create a series of courses for Ithkuil on memrise Memrise is a platform, which makes learning easier. I recommend everybody, to have a look on this page. It really helped me and increased my learning speed to a maximum. My daily experience with this platform showed me, that interpunctuation characters, which are used in the original Latin transcription to denote the glottal stop, the ejective consonants and the intonation (tone) are often unrecognized and barely heavy to be typed in; it is difficult to work on Memrise with interpunctuation characters. If I have completed some courses, I will give another post. I also created a similar Cyrillic transcription, just for fun :) I would enjoy it, if someone would read my suggestions for the new transcription.
