Hello my name is grace. Im new to this page and Im in need of advise. Im the owner and director of Carmines Academy Rescue and we took in a dog we named Elsa. Long story short Elsa was very abused and came in with two mangled back legs. Yesterday the back right was removed. I pick her up this morning and would love any advise or tips or anything I also built her a homemade wheel chair as the vet is afraid the back left isnt ready to be the only leg as its bent and weak. Elsas story: Elsa is a momma dog that was surrendered to us from pine ridge Indian reservation. She came in with what appreared to be a fractured and healed back leg. The vet and techs were shocked at the findings! Elsa had broken BOTH of her back legs and was shot by a BB gun. Both legs had healed naturaly but in order for them to do so Elsa would not have been able to walk for months! These injuries happened 3-12 months ago! The left leg healed on its own and is functioning ok, the right leg is a totally different story! it had broke and then fused itself into a horrible triangular shape and then her body formed more bone over that! The Right leg can not bend at all! Elsa came in with newborn babies so she even did a pregnancy with her back legs all out of shape.
