Hello, this maybe the wrong place for this question. If it is - I apologise in advance. I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar or can offer some guidance. Im 27 years old, my daughter has just turned 1 years old. We have successfully been breastfeeding for the past 12 months. About 8 weeks ago, I got an eczema type rash on my left breast. I went to my GP who felt a non fixable mass in the same breast. The doctor prescribed a steroid cream and a 2 week course of antibiotics incase it was an infection and referred me to a breast clinic. The antibiotics didnt clear the rash nor did the lump disappear. At the breast clinic they did an ultrasound and a FNA which didnt show anything but the doctor wasnt happy because of a lymph node in my left armpit which she felt could be reactive and also the size of the lump (5cm) so yesterday she did a core biopsy. She mentioned that the site of the biopsy could leak a little milk which should stop once the site heals. I didnt actually think it was going to be this bad. Everytime I feed my daughter my top is soaked. The dressing smells (going to the pharmacy later to buy more dressing). The doctor advised that I may have to stop breastfeeding if the site doesnt stop leaking milk. My daughter is no where near ready to stop and to be honest neither am I. Is there anyway to heal the site of the biopsy or will I have to stop breastfeeding? Thankyou for reading and sorry for the very long post.
